Last Saturday morning while singing "Leavin' on a Jet Plane" Lisa and I left the cold and gray of Idaho for the sunshine and vitamin D of Southern California and our mega shopping trip to CHA...home of all things crafty.
We were greeted by Palm trees, fountains and warm sunny day. Although we miss those we left behind it was nice to have breakfast outside on the patio and walk two blocks from our hotel to the show without saying the words...."Dang it's cold. I think I froze my beak."
Once inside we acquired our tickets...
walked to the far end of the venue....and made ready to dash to our first destination...Advantus and Tim Holtz. The truth is that I do not dash. I walk...sometimes I walk briskly but I do not dash. Also I had foolishly worn a brand new pair of sandals. These devil sandals were already buggin' me so a brisk walk was the best I could muster.
We arrived at Advantus behind eight other women to make a darling necklace. I waited in line while Lisa placed our order with Tim Holtz as well as Cosmo Cricket. Both lines rock my world and it was wonderful to catch up with old friends. By the time she was done with her job it was time to create. I love my job!
Next stop was Ranger. Lisa and I visited with Wendy Vecchi then got to work ordering new Tim Holtz stains, distress pads, and of course all the new distress pens. I cannot tell you how perfect these pens are for making beautiful cards, tags, canvases and so much more! I am more than excited I am over the moon.
I also had to take in the Ranger Designer Challenge. I love this because every year they ask well known artists and designers to create something with a specific set of products and every year the variety of work astounds me. These are 3 of my favorites. Tim H., Paula Cheney and Debi Adams. There were many others but frankly this "high speed internet" at the hotel is taxing my patience so I will post them later.
From Ranger it was a walk to 7 gypsies, Canvas Corp and Tattered Angels.
WE CAME, WE SHOPPED, WE ORDERED, WE RAWK!
You will notice I have stopped trying to add pics...I will expire before I can get them all up but I promise a long picture filled post when I actually have "high speed internet".
The whole day was a frenzy of shopping and viewing new product.
You can expect to see in addition to the previously mentioned lines
G45---to die for!
Jillybean Soup
October Afternoon
Melissa Frances
Heidi Swapp - a real treat
Margie Romney
BAzziLL
Doodlebug
Little Yellow Bicycle
Christy Tomlinson She Art
Pink Paisley
Bo Bunny
Prima
Maya Road
and many more. We are finding new companies, new products and little hidden gems all over the show! It is perfect!
As for the shoes...they rubbed two blisters on each foot and almost crippled me. I walked back to hotel barefoot rather than endure the pain and I will be sending them back to CROCS and asking for my money back.
Love to all!
