We all look for Inspiration all around us!

We are inspired by family and friends, by books and art, by beauty, by talent and by needs.

 

Someone once said "talent is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration"

I guess that might be true but I don't like to sweat the small stuff so I allow the inspriation to carry more of the load!

 

At GIRLFRIENDS we want to inspire, instruct, encourage and help you embrace all your talents. That is why we continue to make fun and creative samples to fill the shop. It is why we continue to have weekly workshops. It is why we encourage all our GIRLFRIENDS to make art!

 

This is going to be a busy week for Lisa and me.  We are busy at home re-creating our work spaces...(Lisa's is going to be pure fabulosity...mine will be "make-it-work-utilitarian")

At the shop we are both up to our ears in creative chaos!  We have chosen three new workshops to create for October so we are getting our creative on!

 

With this talk about inspiration and creativity I have to tell you that much of this burst of creativity comes straight from you!  For instance I know Audrey Praytor loves all things altered and is just getting her canvas groove on.  While we were at Creative Connection Lisa and I took a new canvas collage class.  (Sing it with me) AWESOME!

So we are creating a new collage workshop for the 15th of October using many of the fun and messy techniques we learned there combined with our own style and techniques!

I will be putting up pics of this and the other new classes as we work on the samples and finish the projects this week!

 

In the meantime we will be cropping on Saturday from 2pm-10pm ($15-includes dinner) following the

September 23 & 24th in Historic Downtown Twin Falls is the 3rd annual Quilt Walk and at Girlfriends it is the 7th annual Girlfriends' Garage Sale!

 

If you would like to participate in our garage sale please call the shop at 734-8592 to get your number and then bring your scrappin' stuff all priced and packaged to the shop Thursday the 22nd.

 

If you have a quilt you would lke to display please bring it to the shop the 22nd with your contact information and a discription of the quilt and we will display it for the weekend.

Workshop and Crop - It's going to be a great weekend!

Just about the time you think the weather is never going to cool off and summer is going to stay around forever, the leaves get a little yellow, the nights cool off, kids go back to school and life changes seasons just like the weather.

 

This Saturday night from 6 - midnight we are going to be cropping at the shop!

 
Pack your stuff....get your mojo fired up....stock up on snacks and come share an evening of laughter and friendship at Girlfriends!

 Just $15 for the night and that includes dinner!  We are so excited to share this time with you!

Saturday Morning we will be creating Lisa's wonderful Altered Travel Book!

 

The workshop begins at 11 am and will go until afternoon.  We are so excited to offer this the 4th of our Altered Book Workshops. 

In this workshop we will be learning so many new techniques.  We are thrilled to offer this new workshop.  Please bring a can of Kiwi Brown shoe polish {walmart has the best price} and a stapler.  We love the Tim Holtz stapler for this project but any stapler will work well!  Also don't forget to bring your basic scrapbook supplies because  believe me you will be using them.
