The ball has dropped in Times Square and while i cannot deny i would like to be there just once to experience the frenzy, tonight i at home in our warm cozy home curled up in front of the TV in my new slippers that Santa brought me
spending quality time with the ones that i love most in this world!!
This past year has been such a whirlwind that it is hard to know where to start to recap 2010. My mom has had such a rough year being in and out of the hospital with pneumonia and having a slight stroke, if it were up to me i would have her here with me so that i could take care of her and know that she is safe but at 85 years old she still wants to be independent and do as much as she can on her own.....still i worry about her every minute of every day.
Kelly has had another blessed year with his company as he has still been able to keep the guys working for the most part having only short periods of down time, he still keeps himself busy with his RC helicopters and we spent many summer evenings out at the flying field enjoying our time together........he flies and i read magazines!!!! i love every minute we have together!!
Kelsie turning 18 this year was really hard to swallow!! I love this little girl so much you would think that she was my own!! She is so busy with cheerleading, working, school and her boyfriend Kyle that we never see her anymore!! I remember just a year ago begging her to go do something with her friends instead of going out with us on friday nights and now we are begging her to please take some time for mom and dad!! The thought of her moving on just makes my heart sick i really don't know what i will do without her!!
We had another amazing year at the store!! In March we decided to add the iCandy bead boutique thinking that it would be less work for Michele and i.........rotflmao.......we have never worked so hard in our lives!!!!! Since the day we opened it we have worked 6 days a week and this past Christmas decided we needed just one more thing to do and opened up a kiosk at the Magic Valley Mall!!!! Yes, we were the cutest kiosk out there and yes, it did very well, but boy was it a lot of work!!! I'm not thinkin that we really need to take on this much in 2011!!
Then there is my sister, best friend and business partner Michele.......... What would i do without her? We are so perfect together!!! She makes the messes i clean them up, i count and manage the money, she spends it!! I have an idea she executes it!! I have another idea she embellishes it!! We go to our markets and travel together and we finish each others sentences!!! I love her so much!!
Then there is this sweet little face that brings me more joy than i deserve!! I love this little creature so much that i can hardly stand to leave town i miss her so much!!
My friend Karie is finally home after being gone for two years and that is a blessing within itself!
Our 30 year class reunion was a blast and it was so nice to see so many old friends and reconnect with everyone!!
Fulfilling my New York City bucket list dream came true this fall......getting to see all the windows on 5th Avenue decorated for Christmas, the Rockettes, Central Park, Ground Zero..........and the list goes on and on!!
Overall 2010 was a year to be remembered filled with a lot of trials and tribulations and a lot of miracles and blessings I am very grateful for each and every day and feel very blessed that our Lord Jesus Christ allows me to have these experiences.

Well i guess my little Christmas break is over and it's time to crack the whip and get ready for the new year!! Michele and i took two extra days off from the store and the mall since we have been going non-stop for the last month, and i am sorry to say instead of taking down my Christmas decorations and cleaning up i just relaxed and enjoyed the time off.......well kinda, i worked on our books all day Monday so, i really only took 2 relaxing days off!! Now i am wishing that my house was all clean and ready to go for twenty-eleven!! Oh well, it will all be done soon enough!!
I think that i am finally coming down with my first cold of the season so tonite i am going to go down into the man cave (kelly's hobby room) and snuggle under a blankie and keep warm!! (maybe someone will bring me hot chocolate!!! wink wink!!)

It's Christmas Time

This year we had an addition to our family Kyle Scott Mealer!! He adds so much fun and joy to our our family we just love having him around!!
We had tons of fun opening presents and laughing!!
My oldest kid got his new toy that he was so sure Santa forgot cause he couldn't find it under the tree!!! Now really does Santa put that kind of stuff under the tree so that little boys could be tempted to snoop? Now really!!!
Then we had Christmas dinner and ate until we were stuffed!! It was so good and didn't take all day to fix so that we could enjoy our day together!!
Having my mom with us another year was a huge blessing!! After dinner was over we cleaned the mess and we all took naps!!
After our naps we got up and ate dessert and played games!!
And that my friends is a recap of our Christmas Day, i am sad to see it over so quickly i only wish that we could enjoy this time together for a few more days and really celebrate the reason for this season!! God bless ! lisa ;)
Dont you just love Christmas Eve? I love this night more than any other night of the year, the house is clean the baking is done the gifts are wrapped the stockings are hung and now its time for Kelly and I to just sit on the couch with the puppies and relax!!! This year i feel especially lucky to be able to spend Christmas Eve with my mom after her having such a difficult year health wise. The girls spend Christmas Eve at their mom's house so it is really quiet around here..........and i like it, for just a short time!!!! Enjoy your Christmas Eve everyone!! lisa;)
I am very proud to say that everything that i purchased for my family this year was bought here locally! I didn't travel to Boise or to Salt Lake to shop i kept my money right here in my community and i would like to thank everyone who may have shopped at "Scrappin Girlfriends" this holiday season because the money that you spent with Michele and I stayed right here in Twin Falls!!! Thank you Magic Valley for helping us keep our doors open during these difficult times we truly love and appreciate all of you!! Happy Holidays!! ;)
So tonite while i baked my Peppermint Brownie cakes Kelsie and Kyle decorated their gingerbread houses!!
Kyle had all of us in stitches he was being so funny!! That big glob of green on his windows are the drapes and they are closed, his gingerbread men are playing follow the leader??? Omg, he was so funny!!
I got some of my sugar cookies frosted but still have two bags to go!!
The Peppermint Brownie Cakes were fun to make!!
Now if Santa would just hurry up and get here!!!!
Well we had a Root Tootin good time tonite! Way to much food and i forgot that i owned a camera so some of the family got away before i got their pictures!!

Today i spent the day getting ready for the family Christmas party and since none of us can ever decide on what to have i decided to start the tradition of my Root Tootin Party beans!!!! That way i won't have to turn up the heat when the family arrives we can just sit around being "merry" and fart up a storm!!

I also got all of the caramel popcorn made and bagged!!
And the placecards made for our Christmas dinner table!!
It was a productive day!!
Its just not humanly possible that i have missed that many days!!! Where has the time gone? I know that I am not the only one a little busy around here so how did i get so far behind?
Well anyway, today is a special day around our house......you see it was one year ago today that our precious little Bella came to join our family, she arrived just in time for Christmas and was and has been probably been the best Christmas present my sweet husband has ever given me!! Just 6 months prior to Bella arriving i had lost my best friend Hoochie. Hoochie was the most loyal 4 legged friend a girl could have, hoochie loved her momma and was never far from her side, her unconditional love was like none other and i never thought that there would come a day that i would be without her!! I cried every nite for 6 months i missed her so much and then by the grace of God he directed us to our little Bella and she has filled not only the hole that was left in my heart but the third puppy place under our tree!! Hoochie, you will always be with us and each year you will always have that special place under the tree and in our hearts......you may be gone but never forgotten!!! ;(
